OUR STORY

EVERLYNE MANDAY OLOO

Founder and Executive Director

Welcome to MamaSafi Foundation. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where everyone has access to basic needs, regardless of their socioeconomic status. We believe no child or family should ever have to go without necessities such as food, clothing, or safe housing. Our foundation was registered in USA, with our office which is located in Inland Pomona in 2022, and we have since been working tirelessly to address food, clothing, and housing insecurities within our communities. We have identified these as the most pressing issues affecting vulnerable populations, particularly children and their families from poor households. Our goal is to eradicate food insecurity by providing access to nutritious food through partnerships with food banks, farms, and businesses. We believe that everyone deserves access to healthy and nutritious food, and we are committed to making that a reality. We also recognize the importance of clothing insecurities, which is why we work to provide access to quality clothing through partnerships with retailers and thrift stores. We offer clothing distribution programs and organize clothing drives to ensure everyone has access to basic clothing needs. At MamaSafi Foundation, we are committed to inspiring hope and contributing to the well-being of children and their families. We believe everyone deserves access to the basic needs necessary to realize their potential, and we work tirelessly to make that a reality.

OUR FOUNDERS STORY

In 2003, my life underwent a profound transformation. Before starting this ministry, God had been speaking to me through recurring dreams for over three and a half years. In these dreams, I saw children crying out for help hungry, homeless, and desperate for care. They would run after me, seeking someone to save them.

One particular dream became a turning point. As I prepared for a business trip to Uganda, I dreamt of children naked and begging for clothes, holding empty plates and pleading for food. In that moment, I heard a voice say:

“Turn around and take care of My children.”

The voice carried a solemn warning—this was my last call. Yet, I continued with my plans. While en route to Uganda, the bus I was traveling in got into a devastating accident. Many lost their lives, but I survived by God’s grace. As I lay there, I made a vow:

“If You save me from this, I will dedicate my life to serving You.”

That experience became the foundation of my calling. I returned home and began serving vulnerable children, but the journey was not easy. I sold my car, household items, and even moved to a smaller house to dedicate every penny to this mission. I fed orphans, clothed them, and provided education and medical care, even when it meant my own children had to sacrifice.

Many people doubted me, and some ridiculed my choices. There were times when we were evicted or could afford only one meal a day. Despite these challenges, I trusted in God’s promise to make a way.
Mamasafi Foundation grew out of this journey of faith, sacrifice, and commitment to serving others. The name Mamasafi, meaning “clean mother” in Swahili, reflects our commitment to purity of purpose and compassionate service. Over the years, we have expanded our mission to serve vulnerable communities both in the USA and globally.

In the United States, we provide mentorship, support programs for families, and community empowerment initiatives. Internationally, our projects include seamstress training, sustainable agriculture programs, and small business development to create long-term solutions to poverty. These efforts are the fruits of years of dedication and a vision inspired by God’s call.

Mamasafi Foundation is a testament to God’s faithfulness. What began as a dream and a personal vow has grown into a movement of love, touching lives across continents. Our story reminds us that with God, no calling is too great, and no challenge is insurmountable.

Thank you for joining us on this journey and for all your support.
